ABOUT RUTH JACOBS (RMN, BSc)
Ruth heads up our meal support team. She is a registered mental health nurse providing meal support for people with eating disorders of all types. She also provides education sessions for parents or carers in how to effectively carry out meal support at home.
Ruth has worked in eating disorder services, in a variety of roles, since 2015. She is a qualified Mental Health Nurse, registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, and has further training in eating disorders, attachment disorders, positive behavioural support, Autism, ARFID and safeguarding. She is also fully trained in NG feeding.
Starting in a general adolescent in-patient unit, she quickly found her passion working with teenagers with eating disorders. She then joined the Family Eating Disorder Service and helped run the home intervention team, before becoming the Ward Manager of Brighton and Hove specialist eating disorder in-patient clinic. She has run several parent support groups and works with private clients, of all ages, online and in-person.
